The images below show the presence of ”pink ribbons” and ‘stakes’ around the HGW site (June 2011).
They appear to be ‘markers’ used by surveyors… but this has not been confirmed?

Amazingly, the Highett Grassy Woodland has survived in Melbourne despite 150 years of grazing, market gardens, tree felling, and building in the surrounding area.TAKE ACTION NOW before the site is covered with high-density housing!

Pink ribbons are for cancer-don’t tell me the rot has set in behind our backs. I thought Simon Crean stated that we would all be given the opportunity to comment and put forward community wishes, objectives and important requirements of open space of at least 3 ha. These ribbons are part of those 3 hectares.
